Scott Johnson is the Overall Player of the Year in the 2025 KGA Amateur Series Championship

LOUISVILLE, KY (September 11, 2025) – After six tournaments spanning the summer, the KGA Amateur Series reached its conclusion with the season-ending Amateur Series Championship at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club. Each event throughout the year gave players the chance to earn points toward qualifying for the championship, and the top performers of the season gathered in Louisville to battle it out one last time.

The Amateur Series features four age divisions — Open (any age), Senior (50–59), Masters (60–69), and Legends (70+) — with both gross and net competitions in each. Gross scores represent a player’s raw total strokes, while net scores adjust for handicap to level the playing field. Across the season, players earned points within their divisions, and those with the highest totals were honored as Players of the Year.

2025 Players of the Year

Open Division (Gross): Scott Johnson – Elizabethtown Country Club (75)

It was a particularly special finish for Scott Johnson of Elizabethtown Country Club, who not only captured Open Division (Gross) Player of the Year honors, but also triumphed at Persimmon Ridge with a championship-winning 75 for the day.
