Warren Thomis, the 111th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur Champion

LEXINGTON, KY (June 25, 2025) – Round three of the 111th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur Championship is complete, concluding three days of elite competition at Lexington Country Club. Players faced not only the course’s challenging layout but also oppressive summer heat, with soaring temperatures adding another layer of difficulty.

After a stellar performance over the past two days, Warren Thomis emerged as the champion of the 111th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur! Thomis remained steady on the front nine at even-par despite bogeys on holes six and eight. He closed out the championship with an impressive final scorecard of 67-69-70–206, capturing the title by three strokes.

With this victory, Thomis has earned an exemption into the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship, which will be held August 11–17, 2025, at The Olympic Club’s Lake and Ocean Courses in San Francisco, California.

Gavin Clutts climbed the leaderboard with two front-nine birdies and a remarkable eagle on hole seven, which propelled him into a tie for the lead. He stayed composed with straight pars on the back nine to finish at 69-71-69–209, securing solo second.

Joshua Rhodes (67-71-73–211) remained in contention throughout the day. He opened with a birdie on hole one and added another on hole seven and found himself tied for the lead early in the back nine.

After three grueling days of competition, Kentucky’s top amateur golfers have not only battled for a title but also positioned themselves for future opportunities. The top 25 finishers and ties from this year’s event have earned exemptions into the 112th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur Championship which will be held at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
