Chancey and Boland Claim a Playoff Victory at the KGA Senior Team Championship

Oldham County Country Club hosted the KGA Senior Team Championship on July 17th and 18th. There was fantastic playing across all three divisions - Senior, Masters, and Legends - with Rodney Chancey and David Boland taking the Senior title. Claiming this victory required a playoff against Scott Ray and Buddy Bryant after both teams shot matching scores of -11 over the two days. Chancey and Boland swiftly edged out Ray and Bryant thanks to a chip-in eagle on the first playoff hole from Chancey. This is the second year in a row the duo takes home the tournament win.

On the Master's side, David Rudder and Greg Engle claimed a three-shot win with a 6-under total of 136. This is their second win in the Master's division, and they have also previously won the Senior division. For the Legends, Jim Caudill and Jim Orr were victorious by five, with a 9-under total of 133.

The Kentucky Golf Association would like to extend a huge thank you to host site Oldham County CC, Head Golf Professional Kyle Sheffer, Course Superintendent Jacob Blair, and their teams for helping to put on such a great event. Additionally, the KGA sends its appreciation toward each player who competed in the event.

A busy next few weeks in the KGA schedule include a trip to the University Club of Kentucky for a U.S. Amateur Qualifier, a U.S. Mid-Am Qualifier at Traditions Golf Club, and the Match Play Championship at Cherry Blossom. Registration for the Match Play Championship closes July 25th.
