Bruce Oldendick and Brian Hunt Take Titleist | FootJoy Team Championship

LEXINGTON, KY (September 14, 2020) – It truly felt like autumn on Monday for the Titleist | FootJoy Team Championship at Gay Brewer, Jr. Golf Course (Picadome). The pleasant mid-September day brought forth scorable conditions in the four-ball competition and great tee gifts from representatives John Perdue and Chris Hall. Not satisfied with just their Titleist and FootJoy goodies, Bruce Oldendick and Brian Hunt won the competition and added trophies to their collection from the day.

Oldendick and Hunt shot 63 (-9) which is also what Jesse Massie and Trey Bowling recorded, but Oldendick and Hunt got the winning nod in a scorecard playoff. By himself, Oldendick made six birdies and one eagle throughout the round. Hunt had two birdies to help contribute to the team’s winning total. Only one bogey factored into their final score. Finishing in a tie for third place are the teams of Josh Griffin and Adam Jaynes, Michael Vanderveer and Kyle Scott, plus Logan Watts and David Shearn.

NOTES & STATS

  • An impressive ten eagles were made throughout the day. Eight came on par-fives, but Tom Campbell holed out on the par-four 8th and Steve Shafer did the same on the par-four 13th.
  • The par-five 18th gave up two of the day’s eagles which helped make it the easiest hole of the day. It played to a stroke-to-par average of -0.29.
