The Kentucky PGA held its first Pro-Senior event at Big Spring Country Club, Inc.'s Harmony Landing Campus on Monday, April 18.  37 teams (split between an 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. shotgun start) enjoyed a picture perfect day and fantastic course conditions. The Seneca Golf Course team of  Joe Walden, Michael Smith, Victor Echevarria and lead by David Huffman, Jr.  and the Lakeside Golf Course team of Alan Steele, Bill Morgan, Mike Abrams and lead by Al Chrouser lead the morning wave of tee times with a score of 129. The format counted one best net and one best gross ball of the four-person team.  Leading the Low Professionals were Huffman and Greenbrier Golf and Country Club's Kelly Williams with rounds of even-par 71.  Chrouser lead the morning wave of Low Senior Professionals. The afternoon round felt a bit more like a summer day with temperatures rising up to 86 degrees and that spurred on some hot golf as well!  Two teams came in to edge out the morning wave play, with the Big Spring Country Club, Inc. Big Spring Campus team of Frank Harshaw, Rusty Jones, Larry Woods and lead by John Bachman used the knowledge of their sister course to win the scorecard playoff and take home the first Pro-Am victory of the KPGA season.  The LaRue County Country Club team of Charles Cravens, Denny Duggins, Mike Lee and lead by Steve Cox finished second, also with a score of 128.  Cox took home the Low Senior Professional honors with a round of 71.  The Low Professional title was hotly contested with Steven Conley of Cherry Blossom and Bachman joining the morning wave with rounds of even-par before Gibson Bay's Scott Webb bested all four scores with a one-under-par round of 70.  Congratulations to everyone who participated in this fun event today, we were all winners with the terrific weather!
