Massie-Mahan Lead Amateur Partners to Victory

Fifty Kentucky PGA Professionals and their amateur partners competed in the new 2x2 Pro-Am at par 72 Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown.  In this new format two pros and two amateurs made up a team in the two best balls of the team. Pros Jessie Massie and Myles Mahan earn low team honors in the net scoring with their amateur partners Will Foley and Gary Edlin.  Massie and Mahan are both assistant professionals at Hurstbourne Country Club.

The Massie-Mahan team’s 18-under-par 126 was good for a two shot victory over two teams.  Steve Conley, Jeremy Martin, Billy Tom Sargent, and Todd Martin.  Colby Wollitz, Nathan Hincks, Zach Smith and Garrett Nielsen. Conley and Martin were not too upset with second place in net scoring because they were the low gross scoring team.  Their 17-under-par 127 was good for a 1 shot victory over the team over Colby Wollitz, Nathan Hincks, Zach Smith, Garrett Nielsen.

Conley is the Head Professional at Cherry Blossom and Martin is the assistant professional at Greenbrier Golf & Country Club. Jake Spott, Head Professional at U of L Golf Club and Jessie Massie shot 5-under-par 66 to tie for low professionals.  Bruce Oldendick, Head Professional at Twin Bridges was low senior professional with a 2-under-par 70 for a two shot victory over Greg Meadors.
