Martha Leach and Mark Knecht Eliminated in Round of 16 at US Senior Amateurs

Martha Leach of Hebron, Kentucky and Mark Knecht of Paducah, Kentucky are playing in the US Senior Amateur Championships. Leach is competing at Cedar Rapids Country Club in Iowa for the women's edition while Knecht is at Old Chatham Golf Club in North Carolina for the men's event. Leach was the medalist in stroke play and is the 1st seed in match play while Knecht is the 57th seed.

UPDATE - 8/27: Both Leach and Knecht won their Round of 64 matches on Monday and will play their Round of 32 matches on Tuesday. Leach defeated Jane Curtin 6&4 on Monday and will face Sally Krueger on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Knecht won in 19 holes over Gregory Condon to keep his hopes alive. On Tuesday he will take on Bob Kearney.

UPDATE - 8/28: After winning her Round of 32 match on Tuesday morning, Leach was knocked out in the afternoon's Round of 16 session by Tina Barker. Similarly, Knecht won his Round of 32 match but was also eliminated in the Round of 16 after falling to Rick Cloninger.
