About the Justin Thomas Fund
The Justin Thomas Fund was established to provide financial assistance to junior golfers from Kentucky who have demonstrated the potential to compete at the collegiate level. The grant helps cover the cost of participating in a more competitive national junior golf schedule—offering recipients valuable exposure and the opportunity to earn a college golf scholarship.
Justin Thomas began playing golf at the age of two and entered his first tournament by age eight, winning the 12 and Under Division in his debut. Over the course of his junior career, he captured 125 individual titles at local, national, and international levels. He attended St. Xavier High School in Louisville, where he was a two-time state team champion, individual state champion, and was named Kentucky’s Mr. Golf in 2009.
His amateur accomplishments include winning the 2010 Terra Cotta Invitational, being runner-up at the 2010 U.S. Junior Amateur, and winning the 2011 International Junior Byron Nelson Award. At the University of Alabama, Thomas won six collegiate events, including his debut, the Carpet Classic. As a freshman, he captured the Haskins Award, Jack Nicklaus Award, and Phil Mickelson Award—recognizing him as the nation’s top collegiate and freshman player.
Justin also represented the United States in several elite junior and amateur competitions, including the AJGA Canon Cup, Palmer Cup, Junior Ryder Cup, USGA World Amateur, and Walker Cup. He was part of the 2013 NCAA Championship team at Alabama.
Following a hole-in-one during his rookie PGA Tour season at the Greenbrier Classic, Thomas received prize money to donate to the charity of his choice. With a deep appreciation for the sacrifices families make to support junior golfers, he chose to partner with the Kentucky Golf Foundation to launch the Justin Thomas Fund.
