Susan Stewart Wins Fifth Consecutive Title at the 46th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Women’s Senior Amateur Championship

NEW CASTLE, KY (September 9, 2025) – History repeated itself once again at Henry County Country Club, where Susan Stewart of Audubon Country Club captured her fifth consecutive championship title at the 46th Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Women’s Senior Amateur. Stewart’s final-round one under-par (71) was the lowest score of the day, securing the championship at a total scorecard of 73-71–144. She finished seven strokes clear of the field.

Stewart entered the day one shot behind first-round leader Delia Kahle and admitted the start wasn’t ideal. “Coming into day two, being just one down. I mean, any golf course – it can change in a second, and I tried to change my strategy on the first hole. It didn't work out really well, and I ended up making bogey on the first hole. I didn't put a good swing on my second hole either. But after that, I really just kind of settled in and thought, you know, it's a long day. There are still a lot of holes to play. Anything can go wrong at any second with anybody. Just be patient and wait,” Stewart said.

That patience paid off, as she pulled ahead on the back nine and closed with a strong finish. Reflecting on the magnitude of winning five back-to-back titles, Stewart added: “Gosh! It's pretty unbelievable. Sometimes when I look back on things, I don't even have the words for it. I'm such a competitor, and I love playing and I love competition, and I really liked Delia being so close that I really had to grind and put my foot down. To really play my best golf to win, and that's what I like doing. I was very happy. I was very proud of myself for playing as well as I did.”

As for celebrating the milestone? Stewart smiled: “Actually, we'll probably go out to dinner to celebrate!”

Kahle, representing Seneca Golf Course, finished runner-up at 151 after rounds of 72–79. Carolyn Paul of Juniper Hill Ladies claimed solo third at 157 with scores of 78–79.

Juniper Hill teammates Laurie Goodlett and Robin Brockman tied for fourth at 160 with identical rounds of 79–81. Two-time champion Cindy Summers of Indian Hills Country Club and Melba Kindervater of Elizabethtown Country Club are T6 at 162, each posting 82–80.

The top 10 was completed by Teela Watts of The Woodford Club in eighth at 166 (81–85), Melynda Riley of Indian Hills Country Club in ninth at 170 (88–82), and Natalie Britton of Juniper Hill Ladies in tenth at 171 (82–89).
