Preview: 29th Kentucky Women’s Open Set for University of Louisville Golf Club

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 12, 2025) — The 29th Kentucky Women’s Open is set to return July 14–15, with this year’s championship hosted at the University of Louisville Golf Club. The tournament features many of the region’s top female amateurs and professionals, all competing for one of Kentucky’s most prestigious titles in women’s golf.
The tournament will follow a 36-hole individual stroke-play format. Round one tee times begin at 8:00 a.m. off Holes #1 and #10 on Monday, with the final round beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday off Hole #1. Pairings for the second round will be based on overall standings following day one.
The field consists of 13 professionals and 43 amateurs. Among the names to watch is defending champion Taryn (Durham) Walker of Prospect, Kentucky—the only past champion in this year’s field. A two-time winner (2011, 2024), Walker will look to join an elite group of three-time champions in Kentucky Women’s Open history. There are also a couple of recent Kentucky Women’s Amateur Champions, Abbie Lee (2024), Alaina Schmitt (2023).
This year’s field will take on the test of the University of Louisville Golf Club, a venue recognized for its demanding layout, fast greens, and emphasis on precision. It marks the first time the Women’s Open will be contested at the UofL-hosted site, adding a new chapter to the event’s legacy.
With a deep and competitive field expected, the 2025 edition of the Kentucky Women’s Open promises to deliver two exciting days of championship-caliber golf.
Spectators are welcome, and live recaps will be available following each round.
The Kentucky PGA extends its appreciation to the staff at the University of Louisville Golf Club for their hospitality and continued support of women’s golf in the Commonwealth.
