Martin and Prather Take the 2024 Pro-Pro Shamble

PARK CITY, KY (April 8, 2024) —The Kentucky PGA headed to Park Mammoth Golf Club yesterday for the first open-field event of the 2024 season, the 2024 Pro-Pro Shamble Supported by Professional Tournament Enhancements and Cutter & Buck. The event featured duos of pros from across the Commonwealth, with Griffin Gate's team of Jeremy Martin and Vincent Prather, PGA, claiming the win by two shots with a 12-under 58.

The day began at 10:00 am with a shotgun start across the course, with the format seeing each member of the two-person teams hit a tee shot, pick the better one, and hole out individually. Fantastic scores were seen all around, with a multitude of birdies and eagles, with Martin and Prather carding 10 birdies and one eagle on the day. Four teams finished not far behind in a tie for second place with scores of 10-under 60. The event also featured a closest-to-the-pin competition on the par-3 7th hole sponsored by Professional Tournament Enhancements, with Connemara Golf Course's Shawn Cornetet, PGA, prevailing after sticking his tee shot 4'5" from the hole.


NOTES & STATS

  • The par-4 9th hole played the easiest, averaging an impressive 0.73 strokes under par, totaling five eagles and 23 birdies.
  • The lengthy par-3 16th hole was the most difficult of the day. The average score was 3.32, with no eagles and just one birdie.
  • Competitors collectively carded 13 eagles and a notable 246 birdies en route to an average score of 65.42

The Section will be back in action next week on Monday, April 15, at The Country Club of Paducah for the Pro-Scratch Championship presented by Branded Bills, an individual stroke-play tournament in which amateur golfers will also compete. Click HERE to view the full KPGA event schedule.
