Kentucky Professionals in the 2024 PGA Professional Championship

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Kentucky PGA Section is excited to cheer on our four Section Professionals who are competing in the 2024 PGA Professional Championship from Sunday, April 28th, through Wednesday, May 1st. The PGA Professional Championship is the national championship for PGA of America Golf Professionals, with the 312-player field representing each of the 41 PGA of America Sections. For the first time, the event heads to the new home of the PGA of America, Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco.

Those who finish in the top 20 earn a spot on the Corebridge Financial Team and will compete two weeks later here in Louisville at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club from May 13-19.

The Kentucky PGA will be cheering on the following Section Professionals:

  • Daniel Iceman, PGA (Weissinger Hills Golf Course)
  • Jesse Massie, PGA (Woodhaven Country Club)
  • John Mullendore, PGA (Indian Hills Country Club)
  • Tom Walters, PGA (Summit Hills Country Club)

The PGA Professional Championship has been the feature event for PGA of America Golf Professionals since 1968. The field consists of a combination of past Champions, the top 20 players and ties from the previous year, and players who qualified through their Section Championship.

The Championship will have a 36-hole cut on Monday to the low 90 players and ties, followed by a 54-hole cut on Tuesday to the low 70 players and ties.

The second, third, and final rounds of this event, which offers a $715,000 purse, will be broadcast live on Golf Channel, including from 4 to 7 p.m. (CT) on Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, followed by 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1.
