The Kentucky Golf Foundation and Golf House Kentucky recognized Lauren Hartlage of Elizabethtown and Kyle Jeffers of London as the 2015 Kentucky Junior Players of the Year at the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Banquet at Receptions Conference Center in Erlanger, KY. The winners are recognized based on their accomplishments in junior golf events that take place in Kentucky. Lauren Hartlage is a member of the 2015 AJGA Scholastic Junior All American First Team that recognizes the athletic and academic efforts of 12 girls and boys in their junior or senior year in high school. She is a 3-time member of the All State Girls Golf Team with an eighth place finish at the 2015 Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Championship. At the Women’s Kentucky Open, Hartlage finished in a tie for third place. By winning the PGA Junior Series event at Kearney Hill, she advanced to the 2015 Junior PGA Championship where she finished in 12th place. She advanced to the Round of 32 Match Play at the USGA Girls Junior Amateur. Hartlage has committed to play golf at the University of Louisville in the fall of 2016. Kyle Jeffers is a member of the 2015 AJGA Scholastic Honor Roll. He finished seventh at the 2015 Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Championship while twice finishing as a member of the All State Boys Golf Second Team. Jeffers finished in the Top 25 of three AJGA events in Kentucky, and finished 8th at the PGA Junior Series event at Kearney Hill. He was the only player to finish under par in both rounds of the Kentucky PGA Junior Championship Qualifier where he finished second. Jeffers has committed to play golf at Western Kentucky University in the fall of 2016. The Kentucky Golf Foundation supports growing the game with a focus on youth and military families through golf and its traditional values. Development programs include the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour, PGA Reach, Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame, and Kentucky Golf Museum located at Golf House Kentucky in Louisville. Hartlage and Jeffers were presented their awards at the banquet recognizing the induction of James A. Ferriell, Jr., PGA and Martha Stacy Leach into the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame. The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame was established in 1984 as a joint effort by the Kentucky Golf Association and the Kentucky PGA to honor individuals in Kentucky with significant achievements and accomplishments in various areas of golf. The Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame’s membership includes individuals with outstanding records as players, golf professionals, golf course superintendents, educators, and golf administrators.
