Haddix Claims the 31st Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

OWENSBORO, KY (August 19, 2025) – What a finish! After two days of 54 holes full of hard-fought golf at Owensboro Country Club, the 31st Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship came down to a sudden-death playoff, and Denver Haddix of Lexington delivered an unforgettable 3-foot putt to win it all.

The stage and leaderboard were set for an action-packed day on Tuesday. Louisville’s Robbie Keyes held the overnight lead, but challengers, including Haddix, Andrew Lewis of Utica, and Justin Tereshko of Lexington, circled all day. Joshua Rhodes of Paducah and Kevin Waldie of Lewisport surged into contention as the leaderboard shuffled hole by hole.

Finally, after 54 holes of back-and-forth play, Haddix and Keyes were deadlocked at 11-under, forcing extra holes. Both players matched birdies on the first playoff hole, but on the second, Haddix steadied himself and, with a full gallery of 37 fellow players, he rolled in a short par putt to capture the championship.

My kids will be more excited about this trophy than anything,” Haddix said afterward with a grin.

The chase behind Haddix was just as fierce. Rhodes, the 2011 Mid-Am Champion, and Tereshko, the 2023 Kentucky Amateur Champion, tied for third at 9-under, while Waldie posted solo fifth at 8-under. Three other past Mid-Am winners also cracked the top 10, and three past Mid-Am Champions finished inside the top 10 – Drake Stepter of Paducah (2021 Mid-Am Champion), Matt Epperson of Lexington (2019 Mid-Am Champion), and Eric King of Lexington (2023 Mid-Am Champion).

The KGA extends its thanks to Owensboro Country Club and its staff for their outstanding hospitality, and to Clark’s Pump-N-Shop for their continued support of amateur golf in Kentucky.

Next up on the schedule is the Men’s Amateur Series #6 at Oxmoor Country Club on Tuesday, August 26. Full results, course analytics, and a championship photo gallery are available at the links below.
