Alec Bahnick, PGA, Runs for the REACH Foundation in the NYC Marathon

Alec Bahnick, PGA, Handicapping & Course Rating Manager for the Kentucky Section, is preparing for his second time running in the TCS New York City Marathon as part of Team REACH, raising funds and awareness for the PGA of America REACH Foundation, the charitable arm of the PGA of America.
PGA REACH supports communities and grows the game through three main initiatives:
-
PGA Jr. League – introducing youth to golf in a fun, team-based environment
-
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) – offering free golf instruction to veterans and active-duty service members
-
PGA WORKS – providing career development opportunities for diverse college graduates pursuing careers in golf
Alec’s commitment to giving back runs deep. “I have been pretty involved with PGA HOPE the past couple of years, and it is really inspiring,” he shares. “The veterans get lessons from us PGA Professionals for free through that program. It helps support them, generates camaraderie, and gives back to them for what they have sacrificed for our country.”
Since joining Team REACH, Alec has been training relentlessly, dedicating his miles to support the Foundation’s mission of growing the game, empowering youth, and strengthening communities. Team REACH has raised nearly $500,000 since 2017, and Alec is proud to contribute to that impact as he runs to make a difference.
The TCS New York City Marathon is a 26.2-mile course through all five boroughs—Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and The Bronx—providing runners with an unforgettable experience. For Alec, it’s more than a race: it’s a chance to combine his passion for golf with giving back to veterans and communities.
Support Alec as he takes on this incredible challenge! Every donation helps the REACH Foundation continue its vital work.
