Kentucky Amateur Postponed to September 8-11, 2020

LOUISVILLE, KY (April 9, 2020) – The Kentucky Golf Association is postponing the 106th edition of the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Amateur to September 8-11, 2020. Originally scheduled to take place on June 15-18, 2020, it has been determined postponing the event to the fall is in the best interest of players, staff, tournament officials, and spectators due to the spread of the novel coronavirus across Kentucky. The competition will still take place at Lexington Country Club.

“This change is being made because of the current coronavirus pandemic,” KGA President Dave Nicholas stated. “We are excited to play our flagship event at this wonderful facility, but because of the virus, we simply do not know if the peak of the pandemic in Kentucky will have been reached by our previously scheduled dates in June. Since we cannot know the timing of this virus, we must assume a worst-case scenario that we will not be able to play the event in June.”

As a result of the championship’s date change, qualifier dates and sites will be changed as well and be announced as soon as possible. The Kentucky Golf Association and Lexington Country Club look forward to hosting the competition on its new dates this fall.
