Justice Leads Round One of the 31st KPGA Senior Professional Championship

LOUISVILLE, KY – (June 30, 2025) Round one has been completed at The Standard Club for the 31st KPGA Senior Professional Championship!

Grover Justice, PGA of Bluegrass Golf Academy, holds the lead after Round One after firing a three-under-par 69. Justice got off to a steady start with three consecutive pars, then picked up momentum with a birdie on the par-4 fourth. He stayed consistent through the front nine, with a lone bogey on hole seven. Justice caught fire on the back nine, carding three birdies and six pars, with a lone bogey on the 17th before closing with a steady par on 18 to cap off an impressive opening round.

Trailing just two shots behind is Keith Reese, PGA of Valhalla Golf Club, who posted a one-under-par 71. Reese opened with a birdie and maintained a solid rhythm until consecutive bogeys on holes six and seven momentarily slowed his pace. He rebounded with a par on eight and a birdie on nine to turn in at even par. His back nine featured steady play, highlighted by a birdie on the 12th and an eagle on the 17th.

Dan Utley, PGA of Owl Creek Country Club, sits in third place after an even-par 72. He opened strong with back-to-back birdies on the first two holes and maintained a clean, bogey-free front nine. While the back nine presented a few challenges, Utley managed to stay composed, carding three bogeys alongside a birdie on the 14th to remain firmly in contention heading into round two.

The field also features a strong group of past champions. Bruce Oldendick, PGA, returns after a dominant run with four consecutive titles from 2018 to 2021. Last year’s champion, Tom Walters, PGA, is back as well. Walters has already secured an exemption into this year’s national championship thanks to his top-eight finish at the 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship.

The top two players will advance to the national event, and there will be three alternates determined. The 2025 Senior PGA Professional Championship is set for October 23–26 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The national championship will welcome 264 of the top senior PGA Professionals from across the country to compete over 72 holes of stroke play. Top finishers will also earn exemptions into the 2026 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.
