David Plumb is the 26th Kentucky Senior Open Champion

PARK CITY, KY (September 4, 2025) – The 26th Kentucky Senior Open concluded on Thursday with David Plumb from Bowling Green CC capturing the championship title at Park Mammoth Golf Club! Plumb prevailed in memorable fashion over Lexington’s Grover Justice, PGA, in a playoff after both players finished the championship at six-under-par 134.
The playoff was contested on No. 1, where both players matched each other shot for shot until they reached the green. Justice went first and nearly holed a curling 30-foot putt that tracked all the way before just lipping out, leaving him to tap in for par. With the pressure squarely on his shoulders, Plumb calmly lined up his 25-foot birdie attempt — and holed it. The putt dropped in the center of the cup, sealing Plumb’s first Kentucky Senior Open victory and sending the Bowling Green native into celebration.
With the win, Plumb not only claims the title but also earns an exemption into Final Stage Qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Senior Open, giving him a direct path toward competing at the national level.
Louisville’s John Bachman, PGA, finished just two shots back at four-under 136, while Bill Breen, PGA, of Nashville carded 68–69 to finish fourth at three-under 137. The round of the day belonged to amateur PJ McDougal of Bowling Green, who surged 19 spots up the leaderboard with a final-round 66, finishing in solo fifth at one-under 139.
Embry Claims Super-Senior Crown
In the Super-Senior Division (60+), Blane Embry of Alvaton stood tall, capturing the title with consistent rounds of 72–72 for a total of 144 (+4). Embry’s steady play allowed him to pull away from a tightly packed leaderboard.
Three players shared runner-up honors at 147 (+7): Kevin Hoffmann of Prospect, Tommy Webb of Brownsville, and Rickey Crawford of Bowling Green. Bill Douglas of Richmond rounded out the top five at 148 (+8).
