Davis Boland Shoots Sizzling 66 to Win the Clark's Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Mid-Am

PADUCAH, KY (August 25, 2020) – Coming from behind to win the 26th edition of the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Kentucky Mid-Am on Tuesday was Davis Boland. After beginning the final round at Paxton Park Golf Course two shots off the lead, seven birdies for the product of Glenview helped him take command of the tournament and win the State Mid-Am for the first time in his career. It was a 66 (-5) for Boland on Tuesday, the low score of the final round by two strokes. Boland rounded out the tournament at 136 (-6), earning him a two-stroke margin of victory over Josh Rhodes and David Jasper.

Andrew Buse began Tuesday’s play with the lead, but four bogeys in the first seven holes opened the door for several competitors including Boland. Six total players either had the lead or were within one stroke of the lead at some point in the round, but ultimately it was Boland who separated himself during the final holes. Three birdies in six holes to start the back nine put him in control and he never looked back from there to complete the job.

Winning the Senior Division on Tuesday was Kevin Westerfield of Paducah by one stroke. It was a difficult final round for Westerfield who came into the day leading by three, but a 78 (+7) was enough to hold off Scott King by a stroke to win in his hometown.

There are also two net winners from the week’s play, with Andrew Buse winning in the Open Division with 136 (-6). Jerry Throgmorton and Allen Hayes share honors in the Senior Division with both players finishing at 146 (+4).
