Kentucky Golf Association 2025 Players of the Year

The Kentucky Golf Association is proud to announce the 2025 KGA Players of the Year. These outstanding golfers demonstrated consistent excellence across state and national competitions, excelling in state championships, USGA competitions, and KGA Amateur Series events.

We want to thank all participants, sponsors, and host clubs for making this season memorable, and we look forward to another exciting year in 2026!

Men’s Division

John C. Owens (Overall) & Herb McGuire (Mid-Amateur) Player of the Year – Denver Haddix (Lexington, KY)
Denver won the Kentucky Mid-Amateur Championship, battled his way to the round of 16 in the U.S. Mid-Amateur, and posted strong finishes at the Kentucky Amateur, Four-Ball, and Match Play Championships. His consistent top finishes earned him the Overall and Mid-Amateur Player of the Year honors, his first since 2017.

Tom Musselman Award (Senior Player of the Year) – Davis Boland (Louisville, KY)
Davis had a stellar season with a runner-up finish at the Senior Amateur, a runner-up finish at the Senior Team Championship, a top 10 at the Kentucky Senior Open, and a semifinalist in the Match Play Championship. His five top-5 finishes in 2025 led him to back-to-back Senior Player of the Year honors and his 3rd in the past 4 years.

Dale Barnstable Award (Masters Player of the Year) – David Combs (Louisville, KY)
David swept through the Masters division with victories in the Senior Amateur, Match Play, Stroke Play Championship, and Senior Team Championship. His performance in the championships, along with consistent high finishes in the KGA Amateur Series events throughout the year, earned him his first Master's Player of the Year honors.

Don Smith Award (Legends Player of the Year) – Dennis Long (Shelbyville, KY)
Dennis competed in seven KGA events throughout the year, topping the leaderboard in the Stroke Play Championship and the Senior Team Championship. Consistent top-5s throughout the rest of the season earned him back-to-back Legends Player of the Year honors.

Women’s Division

Marion Miley (Overall) & Louise Wilson (Mid-Amateur) Player of the Year– Taryn Walker (Prospect, KY)
Taryn excelled in both the Open and Mid-Am divisions with a T2 finish at the Stroke Play Championship, making it to the quarterfinals of the Women's Amateur and a 3rd place finish at The Marion Miley. She ended the season strong at the US Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, making it to the round of 32. This is her third straight Player of the Year honor in the Overall and Mid-Amateur Divisions.

Anne Combs Award (Senior) Player of the Year – Delia Kahle (Louisville, KY)
Delia won the Senior Bracket at the Women's Amateur and finished 2nd overall at the Women's Senior Amateur. Her two high finishes this season helped earn her first Senior Player of the Year honors. 

Bettie Lou Evans Award (Super-Senior) Player of the Year – Natalie Britton (Georgetown, KY)
Natalie was a consistent name at the top of leaderboards in 2025. She won the Stroke Play Championship, placed 3rd in the 1st flight of the Marion Miley, and placed 4th in the Women's Team Championship. Her 6 top-8 finishes helped her earn her first Super-Senior Player of the Year honors.
