About the Foundation

The Kentucky Golf Foundation is the 501(c)3 charitable affiliate of Kentucky’s Family of Golf Organizations. Founded in 2002, the foundation was the vision of the Kentucky Golf Association and the Kentucky PGA. Our core purpose is to impact Kentucky's youth and military through golf, grow the game, and make golf affordable and accessible for people from all backgrounds.

The foundation impacts the Kentucky golf community in many ways through the following programs and special initiatives:

  • PGA HOPE KY: This program is a rehabilitative golf program that introduces golf to hundreds of Veterans and military members per year to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. Offered at no cost to our military members.
  • Youth on Course Program: Making golf affordable and accessible for over 9,000 kids in Kentucky. Youth can join for only $25 (free memberships for those who qualify) and then can play at 60 partner courses across the state for only $5 per round.
  • The KY Golf Foundation Youth Caddie Program: Youth from all backgrounds are recruited into this program. It introduces kids to the game of golf, teaches them the game and the values associated with it, provides them a part-time job opportunity, and gives them a path to a potential college scholarship.
  • The KPGA Junior Golf Tour: The biggest and best junior golf tour in the state of Kentucky. Offering over 40 tournaments a year to youth golfers across the state.
  • Financial Assistance for Youth Golfers: Playing competitive golf and trying to achieve your dream of playing in college and professionally can be very expensive.  We offer grants which youth golfers can apply for to help pay for entry fees and travel for golf tournaments.
  • Drive, Chip, and Putt: National program our Foundation runs in Kentucky to expand the game of golf and possibly qualify for the national competition at Augusta.
  • PGA Junior League: Team-based golf for youth across the state.
  • KY Golf Hall of Fame: Each year, leaders in the golf community from around the state are chosen for induction into the prestigious Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame.
