About the Foundation
The Kentucky Golf Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to positively impacting Kentucky’s youth and military heroes by making golf affordable, accessible, and transformative. Through our programs, we remove barriers to the game while building confidence, character, and lifelong opportunities.
The foundation impacts the Kentucky golf community in many ways through the following programs and special initiatives:
- PGA HOPE KY: This program is a rehabilitative golf program that introduces golf to hundreds of Veterans and military members per year to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. It also provides the graduates of the program with a lifelong passion and community of support. Offered at no cost to our military members. Click here for a 3-minute video about the PGA HOPE program.
- Youth on Course Program: Making golf affordable and accessible for nearly 9,000 kids in Kentucky. Youth can join for only $40 (discounted $5 memberships for those who qualify) and then play at 60 partner courses across the state for only $5 per round. This program breaks down barriers and gets kids into golf who would have never otherwise had the opportunity. Click here for a 5-minute video about Youth on Course.
- The KY Golf Foundation Youth Caddie Program: Youth from all backgrounds are recruited into this program. It introduces kids to the game of golf, teaches them the game and the values associated with it, provides them a part-time job opportunity, and gives them a path to a potential college scholarship.
- The KPGA Junior Golf Tour: The best junior golf tour in the state of Kentucky, positively impacting over 2,000 youth each year through over 40 youth golf tournaments across the state.
- Financial Assistance for Youth Golfers: Playing competitive golf and trying to achieve your dream of playing in college and professionally can be very expensive. We offer grants that youth golfers can apply for to help pay for entry fees and travel for golf tournaments.
- Drive, Chip, and Putt: A national program our Foundation runs in Kentucky to expand the game of golf and possibly qualify for the national competition at Augusta.
- PGA Junior League: Team-based golf for youth across the state offered through our partnership with the KPGA.
- KY Golf Hall of Fame: Each year, leaders in the golf community from around the state are chosen for induction into the prestigious Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame.
