Kentucky PGA Foundation Awards Grants Totaling $4,000
The KPGA Foundation is proud to announce that $4,000 in grants have been committed to the following programs for 2010:
The First Tee of Louisville - Funds will assist in providing instruction from PGA Professionals at the First Tee of Louisville’s program at Seneca Golf Course. The First Tee of Louisville is a very active organization in the Louisville community, promoting the game to many children who otherwise may not have the opportunity to play.
Operation State Tournament - Funds will assist this program, based at Drake Creek Golf Club near Paducah, in offering instruction from PGA Professionals in communities in Western Kentucky View More
KPGA Assistant/Apprentice Division to Conduct Workshops
The KPGA's Assistant/Apprentice Division's educational workshops for 2010 are set. These workshops are open to all KPGA Members and Apprentices, and MSR Credit is available to KPGA Members at each workshop.

Growth of the Game Forum Conducted at Golf House Kentucky
Ron Stepanek, the PGA of America's Director of Player Development, was the guest speaker at a Growth of the Game Forum, conducted February 26 at Golf House Kentucky. Ron did a great job providing an overview of the various programs available to PGA Members through the Play Golf America Program to increase rounds and revenue.
When the 2010 season finally begins, the calendar will be filled with a variety of events to keep everyone interested. The TaylorMade Pro-Senior Championship starts the official competition season on April 12th with another expected full field at Harmony Landing Country Club.
USGA/PGA of America Rules Workshop Conducted in Lexington
From February 21-24, Marriott's Griffin Gate Resort hosted a USGA/PGA of America Rules of Golf Workshop, with participants from across the United States. Among participants were Rules Officials from within Kentucky's family of golf organizations, KPGA Professionals, and KGA-PGA, Inc. staff. These workshops are a collaborative effort by the USGA and PGA of America, and are conducted in various cities across the United States each year.
On March 22, KPGA Members and Apprentices will come together once again for the E-Z-GO KPGA Spring Meeting at the Holiday Inn North in Lexington. The event annually brings KPGA Members and Apprentices together for association business, educational opportunities, and the opportunity to meet with members of the Kentucky Golf Vendors Association
Kentucky Golf Foundation Announces Third Year of the Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program
The Kentucky Golf Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the third year of the Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program. The program was born from the vision and support of friends of Mr. Brewer, each of whom wanted to create a means in which to honor his legacy and to support junior golfers in Kentucky with the dream of playing golf at the college level and beyond. The purpose of the program is to offer financial assistance to junior golfers from Kentucky with the ability to compete in junior golf competitions at the regional and national level, but, are limited in their ability to do so due to financial constraints. A total of six grants in the amount of $2,000 each ($12,000 total) will be awarded this year.
